Welcome – The Family Pharmacy of Spring Hill

Last evening, members of CityWatch-PAC had the opportunity to meet Pat and Taffy Busby, the new owners of The Family Pharmacy of Spring Hill.  They are remodeling the building formerly occupied by Five Gold Monkeys on Old Shell Road next to Bank Trust. Pat and Taffy said the process has been a challenge, but they are looking forward to the opening of their new pharmacy in Spring Hill.  Their next hurdle comes on November 5, 2009 where they have a petition before the City of Mobile Planning Commission.  This request is to amend a previously approved Planned Unit Development, PUD, for their location, which will allow shared access and parking. Basically, in talking with Pat Busby, he says the current City of Mobile code requires them to have two additional parking spaces … Read entire article »

Spring Hill Clock Dedication – Van Rusling

The dedication of a new clock was held Thursday evening in front of the new CVS Pharmacy at the intersection of Old Shell Road and McGregor Avenue.   The clock was being dedicated in memory of Van Rusling one of the original founders of the Carpe Diem Coffee and Tea Company.  Along with his wife Tomi Sue, they created an atmosphere that is uniquely Spring Hill. Attending the festivities were Mayor Sam Jones and several members of the Mobile City Council, including Council Members Gina Gregory and Reggie Copeland who are co-representatives of the Spring Hill area.  Board Members of the Village of Spring Hill were also present. During the dedication ceremony, Tomi Sue Rusling recalled how her husband had a vision for not only their new coffee shop, but for Spring Hill … Read entire article »

Turn, Turn, Turn – If You Can!

Turn, Turn, Turn – If You Can!

It seems like our concerns have now spilled over to other citizens of Spring Hill.  Sunday’s Mobile Press Register Sound Off is a prime example that people are not happy with the so called “improvements” endorsed by the Mobile City Council, in particular Council Members Gina Gregory and Reggie Copeland.  While we are certainly in agreement with the Sound Off, we cannot claim credit for this “spot on” piece. Every day more and more people are … Read entire article »

Lenny Zanghi's Editorial to Lagniappe

Back on May 19, 2009, Lenny Zanghi wrote a letter to Lagniappe concerning some of the confusion surrounding the Village of Spring Hill and the new CVS pharmacy at the corner of Old Shell Road and McGregor Ave.  Lenny is not only a merchant but his family are also commerical property owners in Spring Hill. We have had a couple of request in the past couple of days to post a link where everyone might be able to read this article and once again set the record straight on some very import issues. Thanks Lenny for your insight and hard work on behalf of all of the commercial property owners in Spring Hill. Please go to the following link for Lenny’s letter to the editors at Lagniappe. http://www.lagniappemobile.com/articles/334-going-postal … Read entire article »
